Auditions are open to anyone age 21+

**Please note: Sweet Cheeks Cabaret is an adult burlesque company, and our shows include stripping down to partial nudity (underwear and pasties).**

 

Please prepare one song that compliments your vocals, preferably in the style of the show (pirate/steampunk), but not required. Pre-recorded tracks or karaoke tracks must be available; no acapella auditions, please. 

 

Auditionees should be prepared to learn a short dance routine, dress comfortably, and wear shoes you can move in (dance shoes, character shoes, sneakers, etc…).

 

Rehearsal commitment: 

7/13- 9/3

Tech week: 9/7-9/10

Performance commitment:

Fridays- 9/12, 9/19, 9/26

Saturdays- 9/13, 9/20, 9/27

Sunday (Brunch)- 9/21

Post Show Strike + Review: 9/28

 

The Show: 

Airship engineers entertain and delight the guests on what seems to be a typical airship cruise, when danger strikes!  Despite their best efforts, the engineers are overwhelmed and overtaken by skypirates in a chaotic battle.   Using their quick wit and charm, the engineers convince the pirates to a duel - but only if the entire airship and audience are wagered.  

 

The Roles:

All roles can be cast as any gender and any age (21+).  All roles will require acting, singing and dancing.  The six roles are as follows:

 

Host/Burlesque Queen/King: This is their ship and their show.  They make sure the guests are comfortable and entertained, even amid minor "turbulence".  Quick witted, well spoken, and coquettish.  For this role, the performer is required to create 1 solo act to be rehearsed on their own time.

 

Engineers 1 & 2: Performers on the airship, but also part of the crew making it all fly, the engineers know everything about how to make the airship run, but they might not be so good in a crisis. Each of these roles will be required to create 1 solo act to be rehearsed on their own time.

 

Pirate Queen/King: Here for the booty, and willing to plunder airships across the skies.  On the outside has a rugged intimidating demeanor, but secretly just wants to belong.  For this role, the performer is required to create 1 solo act to be rehearsed on their own time.

 

Pirate Goons 1 & 2: Just along for the ride, loving their pirate lives...but when the chance to become burlesque dancers instead comes along, they cannot resist.
